Welcome to the official site for the Grassroots Challenge.

The 10th Grassroots Challenge will be presented by Elite Sports Events and sponsored by Under Armour. The three-day event will be hosted - from Saturday April 27 through Sunday April 29, 2012.

The 2012 event will have considerable attention focused on the prospects in the 17U - 15U age divisions, the Grassroots Challenge also provides recruiting services with a tremendous opportunity to scout the up-and-coming youngsters. A series of elite players made their first mark on the regional/national scene at past Elite Sports events, and more will gain exposure this fall.

HOUSING REQUIREMENTS:
In order to be eligible to compete in the 2012 Grassroots Challenge, all housing needs for the event must be completed at the Hilton Garden Inn Shelton 25 Old Stratford Road. Shelton, CT 06484. 203.447.1000. You will have an option to make reservations online, by fax or by phone.

Note: Only teams that need hotels for the event are required to stay at the host hotel. Teams that are commuting do not have to stay at the host hotel.

Grassroots Challenge
Mandatory Check-In for AAU and Travel Teams is at least 45 minutes before the teams first game of the tournament.

Game Schedule:
Friday, April 27 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Saturday, April 28 9:00 am - 10:00 pm
Sunday, April 29 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Team registration is open until full or April 13th. For more information contact Joann at EliteSportsEvents@hotmail.com. Register early to guarantee your spot in the tournament. In past years this event has sold out.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given 31 days prior to the event.

• Team Awards - 1st and 2nd place teams receive tournament t-shirts. Top teams get team picture posted on Elite Sports Website.
• AAU Teams in the past are from: Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Delaware, Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, Maine, & Wisconsin, Canada, & Florida.
• Recruiting Services will be in attendance all weekend writing articles and taking pictures.
• College Coaches will be in attendance evaluating players.
• Vendors include: Under Armour apparel store selling UA sneakers, UA shirts, UA shorts, UA bags, UA headbands, and more to be added soon.......team orders for Under Armour apparel and more can be placed before or after the event with Elite. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
